Vintage Airline Posters

Now these are cool.  Vintage airline posters from back in the day.

I try to get design inspiration from different places.  Old signs and posters are an awesome source of inspiration.  Color usage, patterns, and my favorite; the ability to take a limitation (like a 4 color print) and turn it into design.  It just doesn’t get any cooler than that.

Is it government’s place to mandate web accessibility?

January 16th @ 1:23 pm  -  Accessibility  -  3 Comments

In a quick summary, I believe so. As Ajaxian points out, the Dutch government has mandated web accessibility for all of it’s sites. In America, our government sites are required to be section 508 compliant, which does bring out a high degree of accessibility (and usability, inherently).

Anyone who knows me understands that I’m a big fan of small government, and a Libertarian. As such I’m not a fan of more laws. However, I think in this situation it’s warranted. If at all possible, everybody should be subject to the same quality of life and the same ability to enjoy conveniences. I would support a bill that would mandate compliance for all corporate websites. In fact, I would eat it up.

What’s your opinion?

The simple truth of it is that no matter how well you follow standards, or how well you think you code, you’re probably going to frustrate the person after you. It’s not a product of lack of standards as much as it is a lack of understanding site mainenence in a multi-developer environment. (Read more…)

I’m not much of a product reviewer, or user at that. It’s rare that I find a product that I enjoy and use daily. When I do, however, my adoration of that product is generally rabid and I suggest it to all of my friends. (Read more…)
